We’re Hiring for the 2026 Season!

Full and Part Time Positions

Full Time Seasonal Farm Crew Member

Good things grow here, and we’re looking for someone to grow with us.

Chandler Pond Farm is a 250-acre diversified, family-owned farm in Wheelock, VT, managing an additional 150 acres of hay ground in surrounding towns. We’ve been living and farming here for 10 years on conserved land we care deeply about, and we’re building something meant to last, for our family, our community, and the land itself.

We raise:

  • 100% grass-fed, rotationally grazed beef (primarily Belted Galloways born and raised here, ~100 head)

  • Strawberries (~ 2 acres fruiting, 2 establishing)

  • Blueberries (~500 mature plants)

  • Hay and haylage for our herd and customers

  • Specialty cut flowers (~¾ acre)

  • Misc. seasonal produce like rhubarb, asparagus, pumpkins, sweet corn, and fall mums

  • And we run a bustling on-farm local goods farmstand featuring our products and many from other local farms and makers

Our products are raised using organic practices, though we don’t seek certification. We focus on utilizing an interconnected system as close to nature intended as possible- the grass feeds the cows, the cows make the manure, the manure builds the soil, healthy soil grows grass and the crops, and they feed the cows and the people. Everything is part of the living loop.

By design, about 95% of what we produce is sold direct to consumer, through the farmstand, u-picks, memberships, workshops, and our website. We love bringing people here to see where their food comes from, ask questions, and connect with the hands and place that raised it. Over the years, the farm has become a well-loved part of the community, a gathering place, a retreat, and somewhere locals and newcomers alike can regularly enjoy and depend on for quality, local goods, tasty treats, and smiling farmers.

And at this point? We’ve outgrown what our family can manage alone.

We’re ready to welcome someone into the daily rhythm of the farm- someone who wants to work hard, learn a lot, and help us keep growing!

Who This Job Is For

We are seeking an energetic, self-sufficient and driven individual to commit to a full-time seasonal position supporting operations in all aspects of our family owned and operated, diversified small farm- with a strong focus on flowers, strawberries, and the farmstand.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Can hustle in a fast and fun environment, and like ending the day tired in a good way

  • Care about sustainable food and local, small-scale agriculture

  • Don’t mind dirt under your nails

  • Are just as willing to work in sunshine as you are in the rain

  • Will take pride in ensuring quality products, a healthy farm, and happy customers.

Previous plant or animal, or retail/customer service experience is great, but what matters most is your work ethic, attitude, and willingness to jump in wherever needed.

You’ll work directly alongside us (the owners), learning the ins and outs of a direct-market farm business.

 What You’ll Be Doing

Work may include:

In the Fields (flower and strawberry-heavy focus)

  • Soil prep, planting, weeding, cultivating, irrigating, harvesting

  • Order fulfillment and distribution

  • Both hand labor and tractor work (we’ll train you to be tractor saavy).

  • Setting up fencing and water

  • Basic health checks and general care

In the Farmstand (largely self-serve)

  • Receiving and checking deliveries

  • Assisting customers and partners in a friendly and courteous manner

  • Assisting with workshops and events

  • Occasional deliveries or vendor pickups

  • Fence repairs, waterline work, light building projects, landscaping

  • Maintaining high standards for product quality and organization

  • Help guide part time help

  • Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly

  • Valid driver’s license + reliable personal vehicle

  • Strong time management and punctuality

  • Physically able to work full days on your feet, outdoors, in all weather

  • Ability to move with both speed and precision

  • Ability to maintain records and follow provided plans

  • Comfortable with basic tech (POS systems, email, apps, digital payments)

  • Able to operate a register, do simple math and make change

  • Comfortable around beef cattle, horses, geese and dogs

  • Self-motivated but also able to take direction

  • Demonstrates clear and consistent communication and collaboration skills

  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback, and asking for help when needed

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both cooperatively and independently.

  • Adaptable when weather or farm life shifts the plan
